calebcleveland:

He’s the hero the ocean deserves! Starting up again with my portraits of characters from The Thrilling Adventure Hour. This is Phillip Fathom, the Deep-Dea Detective, an aquatic Caped Crusader right down to the themed gadgets, the combination of mystery and fisticuffs, and the ridiculous growly voice (by the talented Hal Lublin) that lurches into ridiculous growly shouting right when you least expect it. He’s one of my favorite characters in the podcast, which you should listen to. If not, then shame on you.
HIS PARENTS DIED AT SEA!!!

My favorite part of this years Christmas on Mars episode was the segment dedicated to The Deep Sea Detective."Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the city, crime took no holiday and I showed no pity. The deep sea detective came from the ocean and he like the sea is devoid of emotion. A mission of justice more than of peace for he like the sea will not ever cease. The muggers were crouched, crazed and cruel in dark canyons to pounce on any unlucky companions who in strong tides might have been swept away but tonight all those predators will find they are the prey."
